Alcohol abuse statistics demonstrate the fact that alcohol abuse among adolescents is increasing in the United States. What are some of the reasons for this? Numerous alcohol addiction specialists claim that alcohol advertisements brought into being by the media are an important reason for the spread of teen alcohol abuse.
Other alcohol addiction authorities think that the increase in teenage alcohol abuse is due to the toleration and accessibility of liquor, beer, and wine in our society.
Still other alcoholism experts stress the point that numerous young people engage in risky drinking because of the increased disquiet that they experience.
From a slightly different viewpoint, since both parents in more than a few families work full or part-time, the lack of parental supervision positively has to play a key part in the expansion of teen alcohol abuse. And last of all, various alcohol dependency authorities articulate that the rise in teenage alcohol abuse is due, at least partially, to our laissez-faire society.
Excessive Drinking and Coping Skills Education
One component of teenage alcohol abuse that seems to be somewhat missing in the alcoholism research literature, conversely, is the absence of educational courses that teach teenagers how to upgrade their coping skills so that their dangerous drinking behavior is radically decreased or done away with.
More to the point, scientific research has revealed that there is an indirect correlation between poor coping skills and hazardous drinking. Basically, this means that the poorer the coping skills, the higher the rate of alcohol abuse. To the degree that this is an accurate allegation , why isn’t coping skills education a primary part of the academic prospectus in all of our elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools?
A Society That Underscores Adolescent Coping Skills
Let us manufacture a scenario for the purpose of explanation. Let us imagine a society in which all people are taught how to develop high-quality coping skills all the way from kindergarten up to and including their final year in high school.
In such a society, when life gets demanding, individuals who are “coping skills masters” will be able to respond in a more healthy and more creative way, as opposed to others who fail to put their coping skills into operation.
Stated another way, students who exhibit first-class coping skills will be more able to think clearly and demonstrate first-class decision making as opposed to teenagers who, because they are deficient in top-of-the-line coping skills, are drawn to the “quick fix” of abusive drinking.
What would happen in the above “ideal” society, what’s more, if students not only received first class coping skills instruction but also got a first class education that focused on the long term and short term unhealthy consequences associated with drug abuse and alcohol abuse? Emphasizing these drug and alcohol abuse facts, along with more advanced coping skills training, it is emphasized, would help teens keep away from the noticeable appeal correlated with adolescent drinking and, as a consequence, would drastically lessen the abusive drinking behavior demonstrated by teens in our country.
Youth Hazardous Drinking: Conclusion
There are obviously many valid reasons why so many of our adolescents drink in a harmful manner. Such a thorny subject matter demands a wide-ranging and relevant educational and preventative response by our politicians, students, educators, and parents so that our teens can learn how to cope with life’s predicaments in a more rewarding and responsible way instead of resorting to injurious drinking behavior to solve their difficulties.

Hemorrhoids or Piles are one of the world’s most annoying health problems. While they are not considered a serious disorder, they can lead to bleeding and other more serious conditions. Sometimes, there may be an underlying condition, for example colon or rectal cancer.
If the hemorrhoids do not disappear after home remedies are applied, it is time to seek treatment from a doctor who specializes in treating and removing hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoid treatment varies according to the area of the problem, the signs, and how significant the problem is when it is treated. Although most cases of hemorrhoids disappear when the underlying problem is solved, it is a good idea to examine the situation if there is a lot of pain and /or bleeding involved.
If diet and exercise changes along with the sitz baths and anti-biotic cream do not help, it is time to try other treatments.
Using various instruments called scopes, a physician can usually pinpoint the position and severity of the hemorrhoids. Then s/he can give us the information we need to make an intelligent decision.
A procedure called Rubber Band Ligation may be used to block blood flow to the irritated hemorrhoidal vein. This is a restrictive procedure and it might stop a hemorrhoid from growing in the exact spot. This is the favored method of treatment because it can treat both small and medium sized hemorrhoids. Also, about 80% of the patients who undergo this procedure find that it alleviates their symptoms. Improvements after the treatment seem to be most promising with this procedure.
Infrared Photocoagulation is the method by which a light source is used to slowly to remove the hemorrhoid. Occasionally we find that more than one treatment may be required. This method is also called coagulation therapy and it tries to create scar tissues to prevent future hemorrhoids.
Lasers can be used to cauterize the hemorrhoid, particularly one that has a clot formed inside it.

Another alternative may be surgery, depending upon the level of pain and agony the hemorrhoids can cause. This option should be made as a last resort since the period after the surgery is very difficult. Hemorrhoidectomy (surgical removal of hemorrhoids) is usually used for very large and bothersome hemorrhoids. It might be hard to actually pee for a few days after the surgery. There can also be severe pain, discomfort, and bleeding for days. If the scars do not heal properly, antibiotics may be needed to fend off infections or abscesses.
In treating hemorrhoids, the first step is to try basic methods to subdue or control the veins. If these procedures don’t work, the doctor will proceed to the next level of treatment, surgery or removal of the hemorrhoid. Surgery costs more and carries the increased risk of complications, especially in older patients.
After surgery, it is very important to change your lifestyle so that hemorrhoids will not happen again. It doesn’t make sense to undergo all that pain and then have to repeat it.
